As We Enter a New Year, the February Issue Highlights the Simple Pleasures of Home
NEW YORK, NY - JANUARY 25 - Today the editors of Modern Luxury Media, the nation's largest luxury media company, are debuting The Home Issue, which celebrates the unexpected gifts that have come out of spending more time at home.
At Modern Luxury, we make it our mission to connect and inspire our readers by putting a spotlight on the communities and people who are driving progress, imagination and artistry across the nation. As we celebrate the start of a new year, it was important to use The Home Issue to showcase how our communities have been using this period at home to continue to look inward, find new passions and a fresh perspective on life as we enter 2021.
One of the many gifts that came out of 2020 was the abundance of creative content available across all traditional, digital and streaming platforms coupled with the time to explore and watch with loved ones. One of the breakout shows of the season during the pandemic was Dickinson, a period comedy - drama created by Alena Smith about the American poet, Emily Dickinson.
For this edition's cover story, SVP of Editorial Phebe Wahl spoke with award-winning actress, singer, model and producer Hailee Steinfeld about her transformative experience not only starring as the lead role in Dickinson, but executive producing. As she debuts the second season, Steinfeld wholeheartedly believes in the transformative power of the pen. “Reading some of her poetry can make you uncomfortable because it makes you think about things you don’t really want to think about or talk about,” Steinfeld muses. “I feel that that’s why I’ve connected with it on such a different level. And I have found that my friends specifically have as well, because it portrays certain aspects of a young woman’s life accurately.”
The Home Issue also includes an exclusive real estate feature titled, ”Make Yourself At Home” featuring serene homes to make your permanent address across the country. Readers can also dive into a beautiful fashion spread spotlighting the new and softer resort collections of 2021.
“We have all heard the stories about the unexpected gifts of the pandemic,” said Phebe Wahl, SVP of Editorial at Modern Luxury. “No doubt, 2020 was challenging. However, the resounding chorus as we move into the year ahead is to take all we learned into the future. We hope this issue serves as a sort of inspiration and celebration of what we are bringing forward. “
