Roc Nation and Modern Luxury’s unique multimedia destination launches its spring volume with iconic visionaries across various creative mediums, French artistic gymnast Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos and Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter.
NEW YORK — On March 1, 2024, EDITION by Modern Luxury, the first multiplatform portal to champion diverse talent in the realm of luxury, announced the unveiling of its annual spring issue with Andra Day as the cover star. The Grammy- and Golden Globe-winning singer/actress unveils her journey through romance, self-love and spirituality on her new album, Cassandra (Cherith).
“I’m more interested in not just being an entertainer but being an artist and fully fleshing out all of the manifestations of that,” Day explains.
The spring issue (whose theme is “Next Wave”) celebrates creators from different industries who are breaking barriers to make room for more inclusivity.
“This volume also marks our 10th issue release, which is very exciting. Following hundreds of pages filled with innovative stories and hearing how our readers connected with our vision, I’m looking forward to further challenging the magazine’s editorial standard as we continue to expand our reach nationwide,” says EDITION Editor-in-Chief Bianca Gracie. “As the cliche goes: Without risk, there’s no reward. And taking risks is what both this issue’s theme and Andra Day’s artistic mission is all about.”
EDITION—which was formed in partnership with Roc Nation and Modern Luxury Media in 2021—continues to call upon renowned creative talents from an array of fields. Within EDITION: The Spring Issue, the “Class of Now” package highlights must-know actors and directors (including Lukas Gage, Stefani Robinson and Avantika), while the “Innovation” portfolio focuses on business entrepreneurs (including the all-Black women team behind IBest Wines and CultureCon’s Imani Ellis).
There is also a special focus on the ever-bustling city of Atlanta and the industry leaders there who are making an impact, including photographer Cam Kirk and Meals On Wheels Atlanta’s creative director, Brandon Jenkins. EDITION also features a seasonal spread highlighting a dazzling array of artistic jewelry pieces, including Dior, Lugano and BVLGARI.
