Modern Luxury Celebrates The Power of Art To Bring Us Together By Telling Stories Of Local and National Luminaries Who Are Shaping The Discourse of Today’s Cultural Conversations
NEW YORK, NY - DECEMBER 2, 2020 - Today the editors of Modern Luxury Media, the nation's largest luxury media company, are debuting their 19th annual December Art Issue which features a collection of new work by some of the industry’s most famous artists.
At Modern Luxury, we make it our mission to highlight the aspirational and inspirational people who have a history of driving progress across our communities from coast to coast. As we bring this uncertain year to a close, it was important to use the December Art issue to showcase the power art has to restore and bring hope to others. In celebration of this issue and during the entire month of December, the editors of Modern Luxury will be unveiling five covers featuring new works of art across 19 brands. The Art Issue kicks off with Ocean Drive, Manhattan magazine, Miami magazine, San Francisco magazine and Modern Luxury Dallas with exclusive cover art from Mister E, George Condo, Daniel Arsham, Otani Workshop, Nick Cave and more. In intimate profiles with each of the luminaries, Modern Luxury’s SVP of Editorial Phebe Wahl discusses the inspiration behind their new work and how they were able to create during lockdown.
Readers can also find within the December Art issue profiles of additional local visionaries, from curators to artists to patrons in feature, “Virtual Reality.” This multi-page editorial spread features conversations with art stars such as Kara Walker, Nick Cave, Yayoi Kusama, and James Turrell and how they are shaping the discourse of the day and conversations in our cities.
