Issue Explores The 25 Most Influential Local and National Heroes Who Are Impacting The Greater Good

A natural fit to grace the cover of this specific issue, American actor, writer, musician and director Ethan Hawke’s resume is filled with accolades and accomplishments beyond measure. He has been nominated for four Academy Awards, a Tony Award, has directed three feature films, three off-broadway plays, and a documentary. To add to his impressive repertoire, he has also written three novels and one graphic novel.
For this edition's cover story, Hawke spoke with Editor-in-Chief, Michael McCarthy on his current starring role in the “Tesla,” biopic as Nikola Tesla, and his latest venture as the star and executive producer of “The Good Lord Bird”. The latter is a seven-episode limited series on Showtime telling the story of abolitionist John Brown. On his desire to tell the story of John Brown, Hawke says “Many don’t know what people mean when they talk about systemic racism. If you want to understand it, you have to understand the history of this country and how it’s been built, how it’s been arranged and how it’s made our minds work.”
