John Amato is a serial entrepreneur, media executive and a principal owner of Modern Luxury Media. He also serves as Chairman of Modern Luxury’s Executive Committee. Prior to Modern Luxury, Amato was the Chief Executive Officer of the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Media Group, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Backstage, LLC and co-founder and president of Show Media. Amato grew up in Los Angeles, California, where he attended Loyola Marymount University and studied Economics. Amato is actively involved in cancer research and aiding underprivileged youth as the Vice Chairman of the TJ Martell Foundation and as a board member of Youth Inc. He currently resides in New York with his wife and their three children.
Vice President, Creative/Fashion Director
For twenty years Powerhouse tastemaker and Modern Luxury Creative/Fashion Director, James Aguiar has consistently brought a notably fresh, stylized eye to every project in his career path ranging from his early days as a stylist at Bergdorf Goodman to the world of Paris Fashion at the creative helm of Nina Ricci, to high profile on-air reportage in fashion television and Hollywood celebrity styling. As Creative/Fashion Director for Modern Luxury, Aguiar has taken on the larger picture pushing the limits of fashion and propelling it with inventive images and innovative new media textures.
Vice President, Operations
Sean Bertram is the Vice President of Operations at Modern Luxury Media where he oversees Sean Bertram has over 30 years of experience, working in the publishing business. His specializations include operations, process/workflow automation, enterprise application development and the procurement of print/paper.
Vice President, Audience Development
With a career that spans more than twenty years of printing and publishing, Maria Blondeaux worked for Niche Media since 2006 before being acquired by Modern Luxury in April of 2017. As Vice President of Audience Development for Modern Luxury, she oversees the vast portfolio of Modern Luxury titles to ensure the publications reach the desired audiences through continuous market research and controlled distribution channels. Blondeaux started her career in publishing at the respected Nevada printing house, Creel Printing. She graduated from California State University - Long Beach, and has lived in Las Vegas with her family since 2000.
Chief Marketing Officer
Raquel Cadourcy is the Chief Marketing Officer at Modern Luxury, where she oversees the company’s brand and corporate marketing vision and development. Prior to joining Modern Luxury, Cadourcy held senior leadership roles at Undertone, leading the global brand marketing team’s experiential, digital, social, content and public relations disciplines; LVMH, crafting experiential strategy within Moët Hennessy; and HelloWorld, a Merkle Company. Cadourcy holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and resides in New York City with her husband and son.
Senior Vice President, People & Legal
Ashley Heard rejoined Modern Luxury in 2019 from McKinsey & Company, where she was an Associate General Counsel in global employment law. She has extensive experience in legal and human resources, including at Yum! Brands and Cumulus Media. Heard is a graduate of Centre College and Emory University School of Law. She loves spending time with her family, traveling, and playing golf and tennis. Most of all, she loves building a strong corporate culture and having fun while doing great work.
President and Group Publisher
Alan Klein joined Modern Luxury in July 2007 to serve as the President and Group Publisher for six Western markets, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Aspen and Hawaii. He now oversees the ML Custom Content Studio as well as the Aspen and Hawaii markets. He has over thirty years of magazine and digital media experience, specializing in start-ups and turn-arounds. Klein graduated from Vassar College with a B.A. Degree in Psychology/Religious Studies.
Chief Financial Officer
Tiffany Kunkle joined Modern Luxury Media as Chief Financial Officer in early 2019 and is responsible for the company’s overall financial strategy and reporting. Prior to joining Modern Luxury, Kunkle held previous roles at PwC, Alston & Bird, American Tower and Cox Automotive. Kunkle holds BBA degrees in both accounting and management information systems, and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Georgia. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, attending UGA football games and spending time with her family.
President, National Portfolio
Mike Pallad is the President of the National Portfolio at Modern Luxury Media where he oversees the strategy and operations for Modern Luxury’s vast national sales organization, corporate and consumer marketing as well as digital platforms and products. Previously, he served as President of Undertone where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations and setting the strategic direction for the company. Pallad joined Undertone from Apple, Inc., where he held key sales management roles for Apple Music & iAd. He previously held executive-level positions at Cumulus Media and Citadel Broadcasting, overseeing national and network sales. Pallad holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and resides in New York City with his wife and son.

Cristin Picciano has been leading Human Resources for Modern Luxury since 2018. Picciano currently assists with employee relations, benefits, leave of absences, human resources reporting, new hires and separations. Picciano previously worked for over 10 years in the healthcare and insurance industries. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Elon University and Master’s Degree from the University of Central Florida. In her spare time, Picciano enjoys playing tennis and spending time outdoors.
