Modern Luxury is looking for an exceptional designer and manager to join our Chicago-based Creative Services team, which handles advertising and marketing design for 23 markets across the country. As the world’s largest local luxury media and events company, Modern Luxury Media provides a range of integrated content solutions across print and digital platforms, reaching affluent audiences in the most prominent cities in the U.S.

The Creative Services team works with multiple departments to provide graphic design services for Modern Luxury’s advertising clients and in-house marketing teams. As a manager of the Creative Services team, you will coordinate our team of eight designers as well as collaborate with the Production team to provide print and digital ad design services for Modern Luxury’s media properties and marketing teams.

Qualified candidates exhibit strong management, creativity, and production skills, as well as demonstrate a feel for current design trends. The Creative Services Manager will have the ability to thrive under deadlines, prioritize their workload, and multitask. The Creative Service Manager is expected to work independently, think critically, and execute consistently with a positive attitude.

All members of the Creative Services team are expected to:

  • Produce high-quality design that is on-brand with Modern Luxury style
  • Maintain a consistent production schedule that delivers projects on time.
  • Communicate clearly to clients, teammates, colleagues and supervisors
  • Ability to assess, adapt and execute
  • Develop and utilize templates to standardize creation where possible
  • Complete assignments and implement programs
  • Advocate for and support the design team

Creative Service Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage, assign creative workload
  • Serve as point of escalation for creative services support
  • Carry a moderate design workload
  • Develop and utilize templates to standardize creation where possible
  • Develop, streamline media kit production, spec sheets
  • Onboard and train new designers
  • Assist with interviews, recruiting and hiring
  • Coordinate staff development, training opportunities
  • Update and train staff on ML brand guidelines
  • Monitor work quality via measurement, support, 1x1 training
  • Regularly meet with designers as a team and 1x1

Qualifications

  • B.A. in Graphic Design or related field of study
  • Expert Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Proficiency in G-suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of print production, page layout, and email marketing best practices
  • Familiarity with InDesign templates and email marketing platforms
  • 2-3 years experience in agency, publishing, or other deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with luxury brands is a plus, as is familiarity with project management software and content management systems.
